Recently Thaddeus Lowe has been chatting back and forth with BBC award nominated director Andrew Bradley as a fan of his short films. They decided to collaborate for the rotating band project Thaddeus Lowe on this piece together, used here are some very wonderful clips made by using a Super 8 camera and the song Birds They Fly from the album Rose Garden in The Gospel of Now!
Thaddeus Lowe taking “A pledge to donate” urging all artists, all people, of all backgrounds to take a similar pledge to donate to Occupy Sandy.
What started as a way to keep myself growing and busy as a musician/artist during the quite times of Apophenia, has now turned into a social movement to help those in need, my small way of contributing, even if it’s 99 cents. If you download my first and only solo album [Rose Garden In the Gospel of Now] from now until December 2013 100% of itunes sales go directly to the “Occupy Sandy” coordinated relief effort to help distribute resources & volunteers. Helping neighborhoods and people affected by Hurricane Sandy. They are a coalition of people & organizations, many New Yorkers themselves who are dedicated to implementing aid and establishing hubs for neighborhood resource distribution.(In fact they have been praised by government officials and the red cross for the amazing ground effort in getting real time help to people in need, you can even donate directly to them if you want as well: http://interoccupy.net/occupysandy/donate/

Thaddeus Lowe On His “Rose Garden” Album

As Charles Norris starts to pack his bags to Norway for a Peter Cincotti tour, he gets a phone call from long time friend and bandmember of indie rockgroup Apophenia. Yep! I, Nadeem “deemy” Ahmed aka Thaddeus Lowe have finished recording my album in my home studio…
I needed a drummer and as of Wednesday, March 14th we entered Brandon Daniele’s Studio (Organ player for Adele’s drummer Derick Wright) together with Jason Norris running the session to track the drums there. Our Love Is Holy, The Carpenter’s Son, and Stars, They Aligned feature Charles Norris on drums!
Home Studio: This is the greatest freedom any artist can ask for when his medium is music. Owning a means to sculpting your art.

“I don’t think there will be another Thaddeus Lowe album as you know it, and that’s OK. I wrote these melodies and instrumentals years ago. The writing has been a result of the relationship that essentially Illuminated me after a coming of age period in my life. I died a huge death before meeting her… I was looking at the child I grew up as, the young boy I was, and the young guy struggling to find his truth…
I set out on a grand journey. Meeting my wife, was the eventual result of a series of answers to questions I set out to find. What I didn’t know was spiritually, there was going to be a lot accepting and letting go. The pain from the marrow of my soul, was all about in the letting go of learned fears. When I did, she was the divine feminine that reveled herself to me.
I felt as if I walked through the fire to become more centered in my heart… A task and tale so extensive I’ve written a book about it. (This journey will be expressed in a small booklet I’d love to give to my children one day)
But what I do have to give everyone, and soon, is an album.

This book of poems and short story’s is where I drew my inspiration to make an album from from a writers perspective. The cast of characters are the following…
Guitarist from Apophenia’s First Solo Music Venture, or is it?
Trying my first big room guitar recording tomorrow, using my wonderful Vox Ac30, once my roadie amp for Indie/Ambient band Apophenia: now my studio amp! It’s still purring with that warm Vox sound! Still no idea when this project will be “completed”, but i’m going to make a facebook page eventually.. New year, first time ever new music from me. Well, actually, that’s a lie. I have released electronica music, using Reason, a rinky-dinky keyboard, and Sound Forge for post production and Mastering. Over the years my monikers have been, “The Suitability of Targets” and “The Pupil and The Apostle”. But before I digress too much on the past, let’s talk about the right now and eventual future. Being kind of burnt out from these endeavors from 2011, It finally came to me via dreams, new found love, and reflections, that I have been writing and recording material for years and have done nothing with these musings. To create some sort of linear construct… [Previous write up of the electronica music: http://dingusonmusic.com/2011/05/30/at-sea/]
Here’s a time line:
Electronica love for experimental music! >
(Note on my musical journey here) >
Colour Of The Sea Blog: On soul searching and finding love as a male in the modern age > Acoustic Instrumental Venture > Solo Song Writing Recordings on iPhone Notes. = Thaddeus Lowe: Songs inspired by the early theme’s and stories of my search for love and what it means to find that as a male and as a soul seeking salvation and rebirth in today’s world.
I’m recording this in my basement with Apophenia’s first bassist, Charles Jourdan, whom is engineering it. Other guests are most certainly likely. Drummer from Apophenia and drummer for artists Ashanti and Nina Sky is a major likelihood, Charles Norris, and his brother Jason Norris on key’s and production is also very likely. Really, who knows? The time is now. Samples should be releasing by late February!
Album Title: Rose Garden In The Gospel Of Now.
